John E Melecsinsky

1935 – 2016

John Eugene Melecsinsky was born in Brattleboro, Vermont on November 26, 1935 and died on February 14, 2016. He made an incredible mark within the arts community in New Britain Connecticut and Florence, Italy. John loved to share his art and his love for art. He enjoyed everything which was aesthetically beautiful around him. John received his primary education in New Britain, Connecitcut, where he graduated from high school in 1953. Later in 1935, John enrolled in Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY and graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Arts and Illustration. After graduation from Pratt, he enrolled for two years in the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy. He has exhibited in one-man and group exhibitions throughout Italy, France, Switzerland, England, Australia, Spain, Canada, and throughout New England and New York State. John lived and painted alternately mainly in Hinsdale, New Hampshire and in Florence, Italy. During his late years he frequented and painted in New Britain Connecticut, at the local Art League, primarily nudes in Pen and Inks and Pastels.
